Baker Family Scholarship - 2020 Recipients The Baker Family Scholarship is awarded to a graduating student planning to attend a post-secondary educational institution within 12 months of graduation. It is given in memory of James and Ida Baker who were long-time members of Wesley Memorial United Church. It is intended to foster the kind of Christian love and support the Bakers received and gave at Wesley Memorial. The fund was established and the first award given in 1990. When Wesley Memorial closed in December 2011, the principal amount of the investment was transferred to Mount Royal United Church and the scholarship has been given out annually since the spring of 2012. We are so pleased to announce the very deserving 2020 Baker Family Scholarship recipients; Sarah Gingles and Hannah Townsend. These two young women have been active at Mount Royal since they were very young and we have watched them grow into caring and passionate young adults.
