Recorded Sunday Service Aug 9th 2020 Hello Mount Royal Friends: We are pleased to share the second of five services made available through Region 14, Fundy, St Lawrence, Dawning Waters and a Camping Sunday resource prepared by the Rev. Catherine Stuart. These were offered to Communities of Faith to be used during the summer months. The Worship Committee of Mount Royal United Church recommended we use them in August when staff are on vacation. This worship service was prepared by Rev. Catherine Stuart in celebration and recognition of "Camping Sunday". I hope you enjoy it. Rev. Catherine Stuart is an employee of Region 14 as the Minister responsible for Children, Youth and Young Adults. We are a part of Region 14, and the website link is listed at the bottom of this email. On Aug 7th, I received a prayer request from June Horsman who has returned home following surgery. Please remember June in your prayers. We wish her a speedy recovery. This has been a particularly frightening and sad week for the people of Beirut with many families in mourning for those who died and were injured in the explosion at the port. As well 17 people were killed and more than 100 injured when an Air India Express passenger plane overshot the runway upon landing in Calicut. Please hold all these people in your prayers.
The Ad Hoc Committee on Re-Entry will be meeting in early September and making a recommendation to Council on next steps for Mount Royal. Whether we gather in person or virtually, Rev. Stuart has planned bible study and movie night discussion groups for the fall and we hope to offer a modified BLAST program beginning in October. Your ongoing encouragement and financial support during building closure has been very appreciated. Please continue your regular givings and, if you are able, make a special donation to the Systems Committee Capital Campaign. More than ever, maintaining our financial position is very important during these challenging times as expenses continue and we will have limited capability to fund raise again this fall.
