The Video E-Newsletter
of Mount Royal United Church
for Friday Nov 6th 2020

Welcome to our twenty second edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday services our live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30am and these can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Thanks for tuning in to Virtual Voices. Here's a bit of news from Mount Royal for this week.

You likely have heard that the midweek groups are starting to meet again in the social hall; the Guides, Sparks and Brownies are back as is the Craft Group and Tai Chi.

This week bible study will not meet on Wednesday due to Remembrance Day and the choir will likely meet another day. Choir members: be sure to see check with Jean or France.

On Sunday, Rev Stuart will have a message entitled "Story, Remembrance and Peace". I am sure it will be very appropriate for our Remembrance Day service on November 8th. We will have Charlie Munroe on trumpet and Helen Ellis will be in church on Sunday to lay the poppy cross. That will be incredibly special since she is 97 1/2 years young. My Sunday message will be a little write up about Helen's service in the RCAF during WWII so be sure to check that out.

Kim Gallant speaks in this week's Virtual Voices about a challenge from the Worship Committee that you can take on as an individual, or team up with a friend, neighbour or work colleague. Rather than a traditional Advent calendar where you receive a toy or chocolate, try setting aside a non-perishable food item for each day from Dec 1-24. Then deliver your items to the Peter McKee food bank in the new year when they really need donations.

see www.passionatepennypincher.com for donation suggestions.

Be sure to spend some time on November 11th remembering those who served our country in the past and those who continue to serve today. We are so thankful.

Be well,

Susan Fowler
