for Friday Nov 20th 2020

Welcome to our twenty fourth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday services our live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30am and these can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Welcome to Virtual Voices for Mount Royal United Church.

Special thanks go out to Erik Gingles and David Close for their planned feature on the financial situation at the church and, without any notice, agreeing to do all of the weekly announcements. As always, thanks to Bill Millett for recording and producing Virtual Voices.

In particular, I want to draw your attention to all things seasonal. If you look on the home page of the church website and click on the tab called Christmas Season in the menu on the left-hand side, you will find details on how to make donations for White Gift Sunday, the Memorial Christmas Tree, providing a poinsettia to decorate the sanctuary as well as an idea for donating to the Peter McKee food bank after Christmas and a schedule of our upcoming worship services.

During this week’s Sunday service, there will be a video called the Advent Conspiracy. I am sure you will want to tune in to see what that is all about.

As this edition is ready for distribution, Zone 1, including Moncton, has moved back into a modified orange recovery phase. Because MRUC is free to adopt measures even more stringent than what the Government of NB requires, we may choose to do something other than be open for in person attendance at worship for up to 50 people. Council is considering what it would like for those requirements to mean for MRUC. Please check the church website and Facebook for details when they are posted.

Rev. Stuart has advised that Bible Study will be postponed as it is a challenge for participants to hear while wearing masks and therefore the face covering requirement cannot be met.

You can find the latest information on the orange recovery phase click here.

Stay safe everyone and be well. As always, if you have any concerns, please email me.
