If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday services our live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30am and these can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Welcome to Virtual Voices for Mount Royal United Church.

I see this is the 25th edition of Virtual Voices. Some days it feels more like 125. Last Monday, though, I was at a meeting at the church and a woman said how much she appreciates the weekly contact from the church. I get that bit of feedback from time to time and it makes me smile and feel like it is all worthwhile. The Newsletter Team puts together Virtual Voices to pass along announcements but also let you see some familiar faces and help you feel a connection to Mount Royal from home.

I must admit, over the past couple of months, writing a script got easier. Once Bible Study and Craft Group, Tai Chi etc. started to meet again and we had a fundraiser or two to announce, it felt more like we had something to say. The church building, while still very quiet, is beginning to feel alive again. Now that the Christmas season is here, even though many events will happen virtually, we must still try to embrace the season. We will still celebrate the birth of Jesus and God sending his Son to be among us. And even in these dark days of November, we have much to look forward to over the coming weeks and months.

Two things didn't make the announcements in any detail; a thank you for all the magnificent Christmas decorating and a mention of the grocery gift card sale. I hate to single out people when I give thanks because many people, staff and volunteers are working very hard to bring you meaningful worship services. But I have to give a shout out to the Christmas Elves who decorated inside and out; you know who you are and all you do is appreciated.

And a big thanks once more to Terry Foreman who again has Sobey's grocery gift cards for sale. These are just in time for Christmas shopping. Remember these can be used to purchase other gift cards available at Sobey's. And if you chose to buy one to donate for White Gifts, it will benefit both the church and the less fortunate. Please call Terry and leave a message with your name and order at 388-4887 or email him at grocerycards@mountroyaluc.ca
