A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

I was thinking about cleaning the little office in my house the other day. Notice that subtle distinction between thinking about it rather than actually cleaning it? Maybe next month...

I found a note on my bulletin board; something I saved from a memorial service I attended in 2019 for the husband of a woman I worked with many years ago. The deceased, Mr. Louis Quigley, often wrote letters to the editor of The Transcript, he filed an official complaint with the House of Commons about not following its own languages laws and he wrote a biography about Benedict Arnold.  What I remember most; however, is that he routinely shared bits of life lessons with his family - his wife, 4 children and his 9 grandchildren and their partners and friends.

On the day of his memorial service, his children shared "Life Lessons by Louis" and they encouraged attendees to continue passing on his wisdom. I decided to pass his thoughts along to you. I hope you appreciate the common sense, matter of fact way he approached life.  Maybe there is a little something here for you today. My thanks to Louis Quigley and his family.

* Receive with thanks,

* Learn from mistakes, and don't look back,

* Expect to be disappointed now and then - You'll survive -Part of Life,

* Try to be optimistic - look for the silver lining,

* Try not to hold grudges,

* Set a good example,

* Plausible deniability,

* Encourage others,

* Don't confuse opinions with facts- don't ridicule others' opinions,

* Stay calm- it will confuse and confound the opposition,

* Think (and think again) before we speak...words wound and are seldom forgotten,

* Don't judge others by appearances (and don't worry about your own so much-your inner self is a thousand times more important than your exterior shell),

* Try to develop a sense of humour, very handy in difficult circumstances and will often relieve tension (unless it backfires, in which case see rule 2).

Please join us for worship this Sunday as Rev. Stuart offers his message on A Time to comfort and a Time to Mourn. And please check your Easter letter for the schedule of upcoming services.

As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
