The Video E-Newsletter
of Mount Royal United Church
for Friday May 21st 2021

Welcome to our fiftieth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

On Sunday we celebrate Pentecost and our first baptism in a while; baby Ella McKiel. Congratulations to parents Manon Lagace and Jason McKiel. Please be sure to join us for this special service of worship.

Remember you can register on the church website until Saturday evening and, if you need assistance, please call me by 6PM on the 22nd. And just a reminder that the livestream begins at 10:15 with the service beginning at 10:30. It can be watched on the church Facebook page or directly on the church website. The recorded version is available about 30 minutes after the conclusion of the service in the website video archives.

Also, on the website, there is a presentation entitled Environmental Conversation, prepared by Sarah Gingles. Thank you, Sarah, for sharing your passion with us. From it and her participation in worship on May 16th, questions for Sarah were submitted and she answers them in a Q & A session which you will find right along with Virtual Voices this week. Its long but you can start and stop it as needed to catch all of her helpful hints. Have a listen as she and I discuss some subjects related to caring for the environment and, at the very end, she demonstrates some products designed to reduce and or eliminate the need for certain single use plastics.

Details for the perennial plant swap are available on the church website and during Virtual Voices. Be sure to let Tracy in the office know or email cdc@mountroyaluc.ca if you plan to attend.

And it is the last weekend to advise Rev. Stuart if you wish to take part in the faith discussion around the movie Coach Carter. Just a reminder those discussions take place Sunday evenings at 7PM via Microsoft Teams. Be sure to contact him directly if you wish to participate. Each movie discussion will be a stand alone so if you miss one, just plan to join in the following session.

Thank you to Sarah for all her efforts to keep us well informed about environmental concerns and to Bill Millett for recording our 50th edition of Virtual Voices. Thank you, Bill!

As always, feel free to contact me with suggestions, questions or concerns.
