A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

I don't seem to find much time for Facebook these days. On Wednesday during a quick scroll, I saw a post from the daughter of a friend of mine. Her story is a common one since March 2020. She's had a really tough year, losing a dearly loved Mom to cancer and, due to Covid imposed border restrictions, unable to visit her Dad who lives in another province. Like many of us, she has done a lot of rethinking of her priorities this year. She quoted from an Alan Jackson song released in 2021 "Things That Matter"; songwriters Robert Keith Stegall/Michael White. Unfamiliar with the song, I googled the lyrics. Here is what they say in part:

"We only get so many trips around the sun
Some things matter some things don't
It's up to you to choose which ones

So tonight as I close my eyes
I pray "Lord help me realise"
    Something I already know

    There's things that matter
    And things that don't"

And while I usually feel my time on Facebook is not necessarily the best spent hours of the day, I can't help but think I was meant to see that particular post on Wednesday.

In Virtual Voices this week, Esther and I share weekly announcements and some tidbits of information passed along by members of the Community of Faith. You will hear me mention Dr. Anthony Fauci as the featured 2021 McGill University Beatty Lecture, a free virtual presentation scheduled for Oct 1st. If you would like to listen to Dr. Fauci, you can find details by clicking here. Thank you Bill Seaman for sharing that information.

Please plan to join us for worship this week either on Sunday beginning at 10:15 for the livestream or by watching the service on the video archives section of the church website at any time. Registration can be done online or, if you need assistance after the office is closed for the week, by calling me up to Saturday at 8 PM.

Stay well. And give some thought to things that matter and things that don't...
