A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

How are things with you? What a week of extremes in weather. Some days it felt like one of the hottest days in July and others were as cool as late September. I always say I love living in New Brunswick because I enjoy the change of seasons; just not all in the same week...

This week rounds out National Indigenous History Month. Did you have a chance to learn a bit more about the diversity and culture of Canada's Indigenous peoples? There certainly was a lot in the news; much of it around finding the remains of children presumed to have attended Indian Residential Schools. While shocking to many of us, for the families whose children disappeared without a trace many years ago, I pray this brings closure.

I made a conscious effort to try to learn a bit more about the legacy of Indian Residential Schools this year. One movie recommended to me was Indian Horse, based on the novel by Richard Wagamese. It certainly shed some light on the lifetime of hurt caused by treatment in day and residential schools and how that pain has continued for many generations. You can watch it free online through CBC Gem.

Every week, I find out about a few events after we record Virtual Voices. The promotion of some events can wait while others are more time sensitive. Here are a couple I wanted to pass along, direct from the UCC East website. (The information and registration links will be on the church website in the coming days.) In case you are not aware, UCC East is comprised of Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council, Regional Council 15, and First Dawn Eastern Edge Regional Council.

It is a season when our gardens are filled with beautiful flowers. I have a little rose bush that had been cut right back and this spring I wondered if it had survived yet another winter.  Suddenly this week it is five times its size from May and full of blooms; a cheerful reminder of hope. Rev. Stuart 's sermon this week is entitled "Hope"; something we can never get enough of in our daily lives. Perhaps he will share how we might find it. Be sure to join us for his message, in person or online, for the service with music beginning at 10:15AM. You can always watch the service from the video archives on the church website shortly after the live stream concludes.

A special thanks to Denise Trembath for sending me some pictures from her garden which she agreed I could share with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. You have quite the green thumb Denise!

Stay well.
