Welcome to our seventy ninth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Hi. Hope you are staying warm and upright during all the cold and ice that arrived this past week. Compared to the poor people in Hunga Tonga in the South Pacific who found themselves amid a massive erupting volcano and resulting tsunami, we should feel blessed. Sometimes winter in NB isn't so bad. In addition to the destruction of many homes and contaminated drinking water, residents are struggling to accept human aid from other countries. To date they have identified only 1 case of coronavirus and they fear outside help will trigger a COVID outbreak. Let's remember them in our prayers.

Thanks to Tracy Parrott for recording Virtual Voices again this week. No one knows the announcements like Tracy.

In this week's announcements there is information about three ways to connect with members of the Mt. Royal Community of Faith; a chance to talk one on one with Rev. Stuart, Tuesday morning gatherings for Craft Group participants and, on Jan. 28th, a chance to share a treat and hear a few jokes to lighten our spirits. Thanks to those who did the planning and organizing and to Bill Millett for setting up the Teams meetings so people can join virtually with video or call in by phone. Everyone with a phone can participate. It will be great to connect with some folks we rarely get to see as we keep our contacts limited.

You will also hear the news that Emily Logan. a long-time member of Mount Royal, successfully defended her thesis this past week and will receive her Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of British Columbia. If you would like Emily's address to send her a congratulatory note, please contact me.

As well, please email me if you have any questions or concerns. I am always happy to hear from you.

Stay well this week.

ps. we included a repeat of our video "The Fourth Wise Man" at the end of the announcements. It might help with your answer to Rev Stuart's trivia question this week. (or just confuse things) It is meant to bring a smile to your day.
