Best Regards, Newsletter Committee YES THERE IS IN PERSON ATTENDANCE FOR THE SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE THIS WEEK IT IS ALSO AVAILABLE ONLINE LIVE STREAM Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler I participated in the information session on the Peace and Friendship Treaties - A Complicated History on February 10th. 34 people took part in the educational session sponsored by The Affirm Committee of Region 14. I think at least two others from Mount Royal were online. The presenter was very knowledgeable about the history of those treaties. I learned that the Peace and Friendship Treaties were not land surrender agreements; rather, they were intended to ensure peaceful relationships, arbitrate trade, and ensure continued hunting and fishing rights. I have wondered for years why out West there seemed to be large monetary land settlement agreements but no so in the East. Even that little bit of information changed my perspective, somewhat. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.
