A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Bob Dylan, among others, sang "And the times they are a changing...". And while that line is true in many ways, in these long hanging on days of Covid, so is the lyric from Bon Jovi "the more things change the more they stay the same."

As you know, the Province of NB dropped the last of the mandatory order related to COVID restrictions on March 14th. Businesses are permitted to continue whatever practices it considers necessary to ensure that employees and patrons of the business feel safe and secure from communicable diseases, including COVID. At Mt. Royal we will not be asking for proof of vaccination nor doing contact tracing at the entry. However, as for other restrictions, we have decided to proceed slowly and for now, will continue to ask that all entrants to the building continue to wear masks, hand sanitize and remain at an appropriate social distance from others outside your family or your own bubble. I know some people will be pleased and others annoyed that we are keeping some restrictions in place. Building users will be asked to continue to sanitize high touch surfaces. If you have comments or concerns, please pass those along to me and not to the staff or other volunteers.

You will hear in the recorded announcements that the building continues to be in use with groups and Committees meeting throughout the days and evenings. That makes us all very pleased, and we look forward to resuming even more activities. As more time passes, we do hope that those people missing face to face contacts with others will return to in person worship as they feel comfortable. And for those who are enjoying the comfort of their own homes or joining from wherever they may be, we are so blessed to have technology and a tech team keeping us feeling connected. Thank you for sending in your givings even as you are away from church to keep our finances in good stead and enable us to continue our valuable ministry in the community.

Speaking of ways to feel connected... there are so many options available during Lent. From donating to needy organizations helping the less fortunate in our community to the daily devotions, Lenten study and joining events via Teams, there are plenty of ways to participate. And do you like taking photos? Be sure to send in some pictures for the Lenten Photo Scavenger Hunt. All the details are found on the church website in the Events section under the calendar. The photos will not be judged but will be put together in a collage for all to enjoy at the end of the Lenten season. Come on...the more pictures the better so get those in to cdc@mountroyaluc.ca.

Those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere will mark both the March equinox and the start of the spring season on Sunday, March 20 at 12:33 AST. Happy Spring to you!
