of Mount Royal United Church
for Friday April 1st 2022

Welcome to our eighty ninth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Is it appropriate to say Happy April Fool's Day? I'm not sure. Maybe it would be better to say watch your back or be ready for a prank to be pulled. I know a person or two who I will be watching out for today. If you like to pull a joke on a friend, today's your day.

This week the church building is busy day and night. Its great to see a lot of activities underway. At the same time, we know Covid numbers are increasing and while many people have mild symptoms, that isn't the case for everyone. Please follow the recommendations of Public Health: wash and sanitize your hands, wear a well-fitting mask, and ensure you have all available vaccinations. Public Health encourages people to continue to mask wear in any space where you cannot social distance.
At the same time, we are encouraging you to attend in person worship as you feel comfortable.

The Ecological Justice Working Group of Fundy St Lawrence Dawning Waters Region 14 is collecting stories of what Communities of Faith are doing for the Earth and Climate Justice Action. We are challenged to consider what we can do every day personally and at our church building. Do you have ideas for things we might do at Mount Royal? Remember Sarah Gingles talk from last Spring? Have a look at this video for ideas about things we might do. And plan to attend our Annual Meeting on April 24th and hear the presentation by the Visioning Committee about what greening initiatives we might consider as we are called to care for God's Earth.

We were going to begin Coffee and Conversation after worship this week but have decided to postpone it until a bit later. When we start back, we are going to try to make it smaller and more manageable for the folks who have been doing it faithfully for years. Pre-Covid, it was almost like lunch being served. We will serve tea and coffee and perhaps a cookie. If you are willing to help by providing food or serving tea or coffee, please contact Joyce Bremner or Sandra Webb.

If you have comments or questions about things happening at Mount Royal, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Stay safe.
