Welcome to our ninetieth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

This week it seems like Virtual Voices has as much community and United Church of Canada news as it does announcements for the church. When people send me information on something they would like to see us promote, I try to stick it in. I am always guilty of trying to squeeze in too much.

There have been a lot of items to promote and remind you about during Lent. It lasts 40 days and many of the activities happen daily or weekly. I appreciate that you can participate in all, or each one can stand alone. And if you miss joining at the time something takes place, often you can view it later on the website. And don't forget, we are about to enter Holy Week and then following Easter, there are important events coming up at Mount Royal.

The announcements routinely invite you to check what is happening both in the United Church at large (united-church.ca) and in our Region - Fundy St Lawrence Dawning Waters
(https://ucceast.ca/fundy-st-lawrence-dawning-waters-regional-council-14) There is so much happening and available to us because of online options. I only wish I had more time to listen and learn.

When someone asks me what my church says about a particular subject, I may not know the answer, but I know where to look. And when people ask me why I belong to the United Church rather than some other denomination, I can acknowledge that we do not do it perfectly. We have and continue to hurt others. We fall short of God's calling and what Jesus tried to teach us. But I like how we try to be inclusive and open, caring and forgiving. As we come to greater understanding, we say we are sorry when we have caused hurt. The United Church helps me feel that even as I fall short, I am still a beloved child of God. God makes room for me as well as all others.

At a Visioning Committee meeting this past week I said, "I love the hymn 'There Is Room for All.' Have you stopped to reflect on its words?

There is room for all in the shadow of God's wing;
there is room for all, sheltered in God's love.
And I rejoice and sing, "My refuge and my rock, in whom I trust."
There is room for all, there is room for all!

There are a lot of things happening in the next few weeks that I hope you will participate in either online or in person, as you feel comfortable. Please be sure to join in.

As always, please contact me if you have questions or concerns.
