for Friday April 29th 2022

Welcome to our ninety third edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

This week Sandra Foreman Webb joins me in presenting the weekly announcements. We put a focus on UCW and Craft Group and the upcoming marathon bridge being hosted by them on May 19th. They plan to start small, limit the number of tables and offer a small lunch in a COVID safe way. We wish them all the best getting this restarted at Mount Royal. The upcoming UCW meeting on May 10th will be a planning session for the upcoming bridge event.

Its our 63rd Anniversary on May 1st. I hope you will join us as we mark the occasion with a scaled back coffee and conversation and cupcakes and congratulate Matt and Rebecca Thorne on the baptism of their son Tate.

People the world over are concerned about the humanitarian crisis in the Ukraine and Southeastern NB is no different. To that end, the United Way of Greater Moncton and Southeastern NB is handling donations for this worthy cause; especially for newcomers to our area. You can make your donation by cheque to the office at 22 Church Street or send it by mail. You can also contribute online through the United Way's website "donate" button; or make an e transfer to finance@moncton.unitedway.ca Please call the United Way of SE NB if you have any questions and be sure to include your name and address should you wish to support this worthy cause.

And just a reminder any time you make a financial donation to the church, please specify your name, address, envelope number, if applicable, and the cause or fund to which you wish to contribute. As we move further into Spring and people are travelling and away during the warmer months, I invite you to consider making monthly contributions to the church using PAR (Pre Authorized Remittance). Please see the church website or contact Tracy in the office if you have any PAR questions.

Now you have two ways to ask your questions... Queries, comments or suggestions on Mount Royal and how Council has conducted business can be sent to me. Or, you can also use the "I Wonder" box for anonymous questions. And please also use that box as it was really intended; for the things your have pondered about for years: the church, a story in the bible, the meaning of a talent or a parable?

Stay safe and Happy Anniversary!
