If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca
we will do our very best to put it on for you.
A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins
with Rev. Stuart.
The weekly bulletin will be available here.
This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.
We hope you have a very good day today. Best Regards, Newsletter Committee
Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler
Hi. Hope this finds
you well. The weather remains inconsistent but not unlike what we always see in
N.B. Hopefully some planting can happen soon without a risk of frost.
I was talking to
someone who lives in Vancouver the other day. He was saying that their weather
prediction for the summer months is cooler, and wetter and he was thrilled. It’s
a sign of extreme weather times when, because of so much hot, dry weather and accompanying
forest fires that we are thankful for cool and wet in the short, summer months.
I'll take mostly sunny with a high of 22 any day but I know wishing can't make
it so...
There aren't too many
new activities happening this week but if you are scheduling anything, please
let us know and we can continue to get the message out. As mentioned last week, we are making plans
for a welcome back BBQ in the fall and want to invite everyone in the
neighbourhood to let them know about our Community of Faith and all the things
that happen mid-week in our building. We are counting on your participation and
help to make it a big success. Please watch for information in late August or
early September.
This pandemic has
created lots of challenges for Mount Royal and every Community of Faith. We are
fortunate that we have been able to remain connected and are grateful for the
donations that have continued weekly and monthly even as many people have been
unable to attend in person or who choose to join worship online. Thanks for
your ongoing support. We know that even with challenges we are very blessed. With
ongoing, ever increasing operating costs the need for regular donations is so
important. Please consider PAR (pre -authorized remittance) to ensure a steady
flow of donations that allows us to budget and cover expenses. Contact Tracy in
the office if you have any questions about how to make those arrangements.
As soon as possible we
will be starting the replacement of the roof over the office. The cost has
increased significantly since we talked about it last year. We will be kicking
off a fundraising initiative to help with the cost. I hope you will contribute
to that as you are able. Stay tuned.
As always, please
contact me if you have any questions or comments. Email, especially if you have
an urgent request, is best. I look forward to seeing you soon.
