Thanks for taking the time to catch up on this week's and other upcoming events. Thanks too, to Tracy Parrott for collecting and sharing the information and to Bill Millett, for distribution of the announcements. If you know someone who doesn't receive our weekly announcements, please let them know that they can sign up on the church website. Under the menu on the left-hand side, click on Contacts and then fill out and submit the form under new email sign up in the drop-down portion. As all the advertisers say, "Its easy and its free!" We have three known birthdays this week: Laura Hebert, Hinson Calkin and Bill Seaman. Bill and Doris also have an anniversary celebration around time. Best wishes to these folks and any others celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion. Tuesday: Craft Group gathers at 10:00 and UCW's regular monthly meeting is at 11:30 in the Boardroom; Art Club is at 1:30 Sunday: Live streamed Worship with music begins at 10:15. Jennifer Aikman Smith will talk about how you can express interest in activities around the church. She will also read the scripture (Luke 15:1-10). The sermon title is "Foolish Love" and the anthem will be "Everywhere I Go". We look forward to seeing you in person or joining us online or you can watch the recording of the service on the website in Video Archives. If you are in church please join us for Coffee and Conversation after the morning service. September 18th is a big day at Mt. Royal. We are encouraging everyone to come to worship in person that day. After the service, weather permitting, we will celebrate seeing old friends and welcoming people in the neighbourhood at our Community Fun Day. This is an important date for our congregation to demonstrate just how vital we are in a vibrant community. Please plan to attend and invite your neighbours and friends. See the website for details. We need your participation to encourage folks to stop by. There will be hot dogs and cake, a chance to see what activities take place in our building. And we will have registration for our young people's Sunday School program and plan to start up Oct. 2nd. Here is a reminder that the Celebration of Life for Marj Henderson will take place Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 1:30 at Euston Canteen, 221 Parlee Beach Road in Pointe du Chene. The family invites you to share a memory or a story of Marj. Coming up: The next movie night, with popcorn and refreshments, will be "Waking Ned Divine", a lighthearted comedy. It will be September 30th at 7 PM. Mark your calendars for a fun night! Rev Stuart's book study on "Forgiving Yourself" will begin October 21 at 7PM. If you haven't read the book, you still have time to order a copy. All are welcome! I hope we will see you at some or all of these upcoming events. Later this week you will receive an invitation to donate to the roof replacement fund. Please support this initiative if you are able. The cost of the flat roof over the offices was about $36,600.00 and fortunately we have $12, 957.05 in the roof fund. We have applied for a grant to offset the cost and hope to pay off the amount owing as quickly as possible. Please use the envelope provided or make your donation online through the church website.
