A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

This week Terry Foreman joins Bill Millett and me in bringing you our weekly announcements. Thanks to them both.

It’s nice to have things to celebrate. This week, just as I was finishing the messaging for this week’s recording, I heard great news from two sources.

First, Rev Stuart advised me of a very generous donation made to the roof fund. It was a significant amount that really helps push us close to our fundraising goal. It is never easy to have these big expenses outstanding. Thanks to the donor but also to each person who has contributed any amount. We were fortunate to have a substantial amount of money (approximately $12,000.00) in the fund based on donations made in memory of the late Jim Morris plus we qualified for a grant under the Faithful Footprints program, a partnership between Faith and the Common Good and the United Church of Canada. It would be fabulous if we could raise the remaining money to cover the roof expense before the end of October. Please give as you are able.

The second wonderful news was to hear of the terrific support from the Community of Faith to two young men who belong to 1st Jones Lake Scouting. On September 25th, the day of our Community Fun Day, brothers Colin and Duncan Munro, spoke to us about their efforts to be awarded Top Section Awards: the Chief Scout’s Award and the King’s Venturer Award. Part of the criteria for the awards is organizing a community service project. The young men chose to support Headstart’s Coats for Kids and invited the Mount Royal Community of Faith to assist them in their endeavour.

Colin and Duncan have asked me to pass along their thanks. As a result of their collection drive and our assistance, they were able to provide Moncton Headstart Coats for Kids with more than 150 pieces of winter clothing. They were thrilled to receive new and gently used items and warm hand made items like mittens. With this project behind them, both Duncan and Colin completed the last step in earning their respective awards. Congratulations to them both! See the picture of Duncan and Colin amidst their collections for Coats for Kids.

If you still have coats, hats, scarves, mittens gloves or boots to donate you can deliver them directly to Moncton Headstart at 1111 Mountain Road or participating Jean Coutu Pharmacies during the month of October.

Well done Mount Royal folks for supporting these two great initiatives.

I hope you have a good week. As always, if you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact me.
