Welcome to our one-hundredth and twenty-first edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:05 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Thanks for joining me for this week. It’s been a busy one. We all have lots on the go and then adding just a little bit more makes the schedule feel extra full, don’t you find?

I love that Rev. Stuart’s message this week is entitled “Slow Down”. What adult doesn’t want to heed that message in the weeks preceding Christmas? Of course it isn’t busy for me like it is for families with young children. Nevertheless, even my very pared down “to do” list seems to feel like “two steps forward, one step back” most days.

I think that is why I like the simplicity of the words representing weeks in Advent: hope, peace, joy and love. In a week when you feel frazzled, just remembering this week is about JOY makes you feel better. And then when you stop to think about strife and anxiety in this world, this city, even in your neighbourhood, there is much we can do to spread joy.

Thank you for your contributions weekly during Advent to Ensemble Moncton. Every item for winter warmth must bring a bit of joy to the recipient. Thanks too for your White Gifts. Your donations are appreciated.

Have a good week. Stay safe and well. Too many folks have colds or the flu and the weather hasn’t even turned wintry yet.

As always, if you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
