Welcome to our one-hundredth and twenty-nineth edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:05 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from the Chair of Council - Susan Fowler

Shubenacadie Sam saw her shadow and as a result, we’re told that means 6 more weeks of winter. That’s great news for winter sports enthusiasts and a whole lot less exciting for people who hate dealing with the cold and snow and ice. Maybe you have found a way to enjoy winter despite the weather. For example, on a day when it’s cold but the sunshine still makes you feel so good. Or, it might be when you are looking out the window and know we’re in for an accumulation of snow but those big, fluffy snowflakes are just so beautiful that you can’t help but smile.

Even though Lent can be a bit dreary as winter drags on we have lots to look forward to at Mount Royal. We have a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper and special worship services we hope give you cause to pause. We are planning our annual meeting and praying we’ll have some new folks come forward to fill the ranks. If you feel a call to serve, don’t be shy to reach out and let me know what might be of interest to you.

In the next while, the Community of Faith will get a look at the recommendations the Visioning Committee presented to Council. There is some really forward thinking stuff there and some that I expect will make some of you feel a bit uncertain. We will tackle it together so plan for an extended Annual Meeting and possibly some follow up sessions as we work our way through those recommendations. The positive from all of it is that a group of really dedicated volunteers and Rev Stuart cared enough about the future of Mount Royal to invest a lot of time and thought.

This week at worship we look forward to the musical talents of France and the choir and a message from Rev. Stuart about how we can do God’s work here on Earth. Please join in and worship in person or online as meets your needs.

If you have any questions or comments, please write to me at the email below. Stay warm and smile your way through the rest of winter, no matter how long it is with us.
