Best Regards, Newsletter Committee Message from - a member of our Community of Faith, Susan Fowler The next few weeks we are going to have lots of announcements. I’m not going to complain. It is great to have a busy active church again after being quiet so long in the dark, lock down days of COVID. We all have memories of that period we would rather forget. Speaking of forgetting, that seems to be my theme this message. With activities popping up all over, there are bound to be meetings and gatherings that are forgotten. Why not just message Emily in the office and the newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca email with particulars so we can be sure to promote your event. We will try to ensure community notices go on the church website and Facebook pages too. Would you like to be following Mount Royal on Twitter too as well as other social media channels? Let us know what you think would be most effective. Your suggestions will go to our new Chair of Communications, Caroline Gingles. Seems I forget as many things as I remember these days. I was reminded at this week’s recording session, that last week I advised e-transfers of funds be made to the church office through the office email (office@mountroyaluc.ca). My apologies. In fact, the address set up specifically for e-transfers to the church is etransfer@mountroyaluc.ca. This is a very secure way to transfer funds. If you used the office email address and you are concerned about receipt of your transfer, you can call Emily in the office to be sure it was received and deposited. I blame it on chocolate brain because I ate far too much the past few weeks, but my friends know I just slip up sometimes… ok often…. A cause extremely near and dear to my heart is National Organ and Tissue and Awareness Donation Week. It is held annually the last full week of April. That means it will be recognized from April 23-29 in 2023. The goal is to raise awareness about the critical need for more donors across the country. I nearly forgot to put in a plug to remind you to have an open, honest conversation with your family and loved ones about end-of-life care. Be sure they know your wishes and especially around organ and tissue donation. If you are willing to be a donor, please register. I bet like me, you know at least one person (I can say 3) who is alive because of the miracle of donation. This week we produced the 140th edition of Virtual Voices. Sometimes it goes out as an email version but most weeks, like this one, it is a recorded video. Whether I am in the recording or not, I always try to close with a thanks to Bill who makes it all happen -every single edition. This week I forgot to say thank you. Bill Millett, thank you!
