If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Message from - a member of our Community of Faith, Susan Fowler

First thanks for joining Cathy, Bill, and me for this week’s announcements. We have lots from Mt Royal and even tossed in some news from other United Churches in the area. There certainly are lots of activities going on. Spring is in the air!

This is a huge weekend at Mount Royal. We have our Visioning Exercise on Saturday morning with coffee beginning at 9:00. The session gets underway at 9:30.

Here is a quote from Thomas Keating that was shared with the Visioning Committee as it tried to grapple with what it was called to do “God will bring people and events into our lives, and whatever we may think about them, they are designed for the evolution of His life in us.” So much effort, time, and passion went into trying to envisage a church that would be a vital part of the community well into the future. The building provides wonderful community space but what role can we, as a church, continue to play? Won’t you come and talk about what it means to you?

Please read the Visioning Committee recommendations before you come and, if you have a paper copy of them or the 2022 Annual Report, please bring it with you. I encourage everyone to arrive with an open mind and heart and a willingness to listen and share your passions for your church family and its surrounding community. We want to know what you think will keep us vibrant and relevant well into the future. Not coming? I’m disappointed but want to offer you a chance to give your input. Send me your comments to the council chair email address below by 5 PM Friday.

Come back on Sunday as we celebrate turning 64. We’ll have special music by the Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra. Don’t think you are in the wrong venue or have joined the wrong livestream if you check in to the sound of instruments warming up in place of France at the organ or piano. You’ll want to be listening for them right at the start of the service. Later, we’ll have a liturgical, interpretive dance to interesting dialogue, and Kid’s Korner downstairs. And we’ll top off the anniversary with cake both regular and gluten free.

Next weekend is also very important. Please pop in to say hello to Bill Mayo celebrating his 90th birthday and come back at 7PM to hear the choirs from Mt Royal and Visions put on a wonderful Night of Music. Free will offering will be available.

I hope you have an excellent week and that our paths cross often at many upcoming activities. Take care.

I’m no longer the Council Chair but you are still welcome to write to me with your questions or comments. I will be sure to pass them along to the responsible person on Council.
