A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,

Message from - a member of our Community of Faith, Susan Fowler

How is your week going? Are you surprised at how cool the weather is staying?

So many times early in the month I heard people in NB wishing the weather would warm up considerably. “Give us a few weeks of those temperatures like they have in Alberta” (high 20s and low 30s) they would say. Well not really. While our temperatures are cool, seasonal really for us, in AB the fires are burning, property and homes are being destroyed and the smoke can literally become unbearable. People have had to flee their homes; seniors, young children and those with breathing difficulties are at risk. Children as far south as Calgary have not been allowed to play outside because of the smoke. Albertans are now praying for a couple of solid weeks of rain. Let’s remember the people, animals and habitat being impacted by the fires.

This Sunday, Rev. Audrey Lounder will provide pulpit supply. Check out her introductory message to this week’s worship service when the news blast goes out on Sunday morning. I suspect she is going to make us stop and think. Do we really know God? Pulpit supply on a long weekend, especially one forecasting reasonably good weather, doesn’t naturally draw a crowd. I would encourage you to check out the service. If you can’t attend in person, watch the livestream at 10:30 on Sunday morning or the posted recording at any time about 15 minutes after the conclusion of the service.

If you missed the May 13th music program at the church, “An Evening of Music”, please check out the recorded version posted on the church website. There were some much loved hymns and a great variety of gifted musicians who offered their talents. If you like what you hear, or you just want to say thanks to the choir for their ongoing efforts, I invite you to consider making a donation. You can do that at the office, leave an envelope in the offering plate during a Sunday service or send the money directly to the church using this address: etransfer@mountroyaluc.ca Please be sure the donation is clearly markedchoir” or “An Evening of Music” and includes your name and address. All donations are split between the choirs of Mt Royal and Visions United Churches.

The Kids Korner wrap up is happening on June 4th. There’ll be fun activities and conclude with an ice cream social during coffee and conversation. Please plan to join in the festivities and show our young people that they are important to us.

I am no longer the Chair of Council but if you have comments, questions, or concerns, on any subject but especially on the Visioning exercise, please contact me by email and I will be sure to pass along your thoughts and reply to you as soon as I am able.

Have a happy and safe Victoria Day weekend.
