The Video E-Newsletter
of Mount Royal United Church
for Friday July 14th 2023

Welcome to our one-hundredth and fifty-second edition of the Mount Royal United Church Video E-Newsletter. You will find the video at the bottom of this message.

If you have any news items or information you think we should be including in an upcoming e-newsletter, please send your suggestion to newsletters@mountroyaluc.ca we will do our very best to put it on for you.

A quick reminder that our Sunday Service is live streamed from the sanctuary  beginning at 10:30 AM and can also be watched later on the church website. The Prelude will begin at 10:15 AM with music and the announcement slides before the service begins with Rev. Stuart.

The weekly bulletin will be available here.

This video will be produced and sent out weekly on Friday morning with all the important things from our faith community. We plan to keep them short so you have time to drink a cup of tea or coffee while you watch.

We hope you have a very good day today.
Best Regards,
Newsletter Committee

Hi. Another quiet week. Not much motivation for extras in the very warm temperatures.

Craft Group will meet Tuesday AM at 10 in the kitchen. All welcome. The social hall is cool compared to outside so a very comfortable place to gather.

Anyone interested in assisting with planning for the September Community Fun Day, please send me an email. We will have a virtual meeting, quite possibly on Tuesday evening. Love to have your ideas for activities or to hear how you would like to help. That Welcome Back/Open House kind of block party event is scheduled for September 17th, immediately following worship.

Do you have a birthday or other special event coming up? Please let Emily know in the office. She’ll be sure to highlight your celebration in the slides before weekly worship. This upcoming week, we extend best wishes to Shirley Ritcey, Ryan Morris, Greg Gallant, and Kay Stoddard on their birthdays.

We are still collecting nonperishable food items for the food bank and used postage stamps, glasses and pop can tabs for the UCW. Those items may be left at the Bessborough door.

Did you have a chance to worship last week? If you weren’t at Mt. Royal in person last Sunday for the baptism of Sadie Follows, be sure to watch it on the church website. I couldn’t attend the whole service, but I watched it afterwards. She was one happy little girl and the anthem, sung by Pat Clement Ryan, was lovely.

Helen McQuinn is the reader this week. The scripture lessons will be Exodus 1:8-2:10 and Matthew 16: 13-20. Rev. Stuart’s is entitled “Who Do You Say That I AM?’”

We have welcomed guests to worship during the month of July as other local churches are on vacation. Lovely to have lots of people in attendance. In turn, Mt Royal will be closed from July 31st with the office reopening Sept 4th and the first worship service will be on the 10th.

There are buskers in downtown Moncton July 14-16 and Moncton’s Acoustica music concert series continues in various venues. You can find details here!

Thanks for your ongoing support of the church. Your continuing donations in advance of vacation is much appreciated. See the church website for Ways to Give.

Take care and stay cool.

Susan Fowler

PS -I’m no longer Council Chair but until we have someone to redirect the email to, for a time, I will respond to your messages or pass them to the appropriate Council Committee Chair.
